THE RESURRECTION POWER!

Philippians 3:10:  “That I may know Him and the power of His resurrection!"

This word resurrection is from the Greek root word anas’tasis meaning a standing up again [from death]; a moral recovery of spiritual truth; raised to life again!  Keep in mind that in Genesis, the creation fell into death because of the sin of the Adam race of people and because they believed the lie of the enemy.  Our Father, through His Son, Jesus The Christ, has conquered sin and death so that we can stand up again with the life, power, dominion, and authority the Adam people (male & female) had in the beginning!  We must be RE-covered with this truth of immortality through the gospel right now!

2 Timothy 1:10: “But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel!”    AWESOME!!!

When I was growing up, I always heard that the “RESURRECTION” would happen when Jesus came back on judgment day and raised the dead. Those who were good would go with Him back to heaven, and those who were bad would be sent to hell.  MY, MY!  But I’ve discovered that there are people walking around breathing and going about their daily lives, but they are dead. There are people who truly need to be raised from the dead or resurrected now by the power of CHRIST!

[Just a little eye opener: the judgment is already happening!. The “judgment day” is another lesson within itself, and I will have to share that at another time.]  But right now, I want to focus on the “resurrection.”

In St. John 11, Lazarus goes to sleep.  For clarity for the disciples, Jesus said Lazarus was dead.  In verse 21, "Then said Martha unto Jesus, 'Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.'"  Jesus said to Martha in verse 23, “Thy brother shall rise again.”  Martha said what a lot of “Christendom” believes today in the 24th verse, “I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day.”  The “last day” has been going on for over two thousand years.  

The last day does not denote a twenty four hour period, but it is the person, Jesus Christ!  Revelation 1:8: “I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending.”  In verse 17, “I am the first and the last.”  So the “last day” has been since Jesus came on the scene over two thousand years ago!  Then Jesus gives Martha, and us as well, a revelation of who He is.  In verse 25, Jesus said unto her, “I am the resurrection, and the life:  he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live.”

Yes, Jesus physically raised Lazarus from the dead.  There was a resurrection in Matthew 27:51-53 when many who "slept" came out of the graves, but there are people who are saved and those who aren’t saved yet that need a resurrection in their lives.

We are now in the season that we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ, but there are many tombs walking around here on two feet wherein He is still asleep.  It is time for Him to be wakened so He can walk out of the tombs of “men” (male and female) in power and great glory!
Matthew 23:27 “Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men’s bones, and of all uncleanness.”

Luke 11:44: “Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For ye are as graves which appear not, and the men that walk over them are not aware of them.”

For it is written, “But if the Spirit of Him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, He that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by His Spirit that dwelleth in you”!  Romans 8:11

Ephesians 2:1 “And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins."  Verse 6 states “And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.”

Here we see that the RESURRECTION is not an event that will come one day in the future, but the RESURRECTION is a person, the man JESUS CHRIST!!  When Jesus said that He was the Resurrection, “the” made Him being the Resurrection definitive, meaning it concludes, fixes, and finalizes the matter!  HE (Jesus) is the RESURRECTION!

This is the reason why we must be in Christ and not just have Christ in us!

Colossians 1:27 “To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ IN you, the hope of glory!”

2 Corinthians 5:17 “Therefore if any man be IN Christ, he is a new creature:  old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”

Jesus was raised from the dead!  He overcame death of the body in His flesh body! 

Romans 8:2-3:  “For the law of the Spirit of life IN Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.  For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned [judged] sin in the flesh!”  HALLELUJAH!!!

1 Corinthians 15:21 “For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection [anas’tasis], of the dead!”  This is the standing up again or being restored to life by and immortality through the gospel or the good news of the kingdom of God that is in us!!  So for us, physical death is not necessary!  Paul told us that in 1 Corinthians 15:51, “Behold, I shew you a mystery (secret), we shall not all sleep [koima’o meaning slumber; decease; be dead], but we shall all be changed!”  This happens through the renewing [anaka’inosis] or renovating (restoring; repairing; refreshing; purifying) of our mind!  When the resurrection power strikes our mind, it will cause the total of man - heart, soul, mind, and body - to be resurrected as well!!!

In the Book, "The Wisdom of Solomon", Chapter 1:13-14 states, “For God made not death: neither hath he pleasure in the destruction of the living.  For He created all things, that they might have their being.”  In this same chapter in verse 23, it states, “For God created man to be immortal, and made him to be an image of His own eternity!”  GLORY!!!

Philippians 3:21:  “Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.”

God can and has given us the key to be changed through the power of the RESURRECTION (The CHRIST) that dwells in us by the Holy Ghost!!  It is He who changes our vile [tapei’nosis] bodies, which had been put in a place of sin, death, destruction, ignorance, misery  and ruin, into one which can live in divine health, joy, peace, righteousness, dominion, authority, power, wisdom, understanding, knowledge, and total victory!!!  HALLELUJAH!!!

NOW is the time of the RESURRECTION [anas’tasis meaning RE-covering of spiritual truth; standing up again]!!!  St. John 5:25 says, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming and NOW IS, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God:  and they that hear shall live!”

He’s not talking about those out in the grave yard but those sitting in the pews of many of these churches that have been resurrected with the re-covering of spiritual truth!!  That’s why Paul said in Philippians 3:10, “That I may know HIM, and the power of HIS RESURRECTION!”

We must - it is not optional - come to know [ginos’ko], meaning to become aware of and totally understand ALL that He is to, in, and for us!  We must grasp and understand the power [dunamis] which is the ability, force, abundance, strength, and mighty work of His resurrection [anas’tasis] which is a standing up again from death by way of recovery of spiritual truth!

When man (male & female) gets hold of this TRUTH or THE CHRIST, and believes it, receives it, and walks in it, he or she is then beginning to experience the resurrection power!  This is the "raising from the dead" that St John 5:25 is speaking of when Jesus said, "They that hear shall live!" or being raised from the dead begins!  He or she has awakened THE CHRIST within themselves, and HE has begun to rule and reign in them and go forth out of those tombs IN POWER right HERE and right NOW!!!
