Text: EPHESIANS 1:1-11 [Thompson Chain Study Bible – KJV]

WHAT ARE THE INHERITANCES WE GET IN CHRIST?

• THE KINGDOM - power; dominion; authority; peace; joy; righteousness

Luke 17:20-21: “The Kingdom of God cometh not with observation: ...for behold the kingdom of God is within you”!

Romans 14:17: “For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost”!

1 Corinthians 4:20: “For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power”!

THE KINGDOM IS AN INHERITANCE!!

• REDEMPTION - rescue from loss; ransom paid in full!

Ephesians 1:7: “In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace.” Our deliverance from sin delivers us from death. Sin brought on death!

1 Corinthians 15:56: “The sting [poison] of death is sin; the strength of sin is the law.” We are not under law but grace! Sin is like poison; if enough of it gets into your system, it will kill you. That’s why we must take on the “new birth” so that we don’t sin! You can be saved and sin; but you cannot be “born” and sin!

1 John 3:9: “Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin because he is born of God”!

REDEMPTION IS AN INHERITANCE!!

• SALVATION - rescued; delivered; protected or made safe; healed; preserved; made whole

Romans 10:9: “If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved”!

Even though we are forgiven [favorably granted kindness to be pardoned, delivered, rescued] by God from the impending danger of loss in relation to the snares of the enemy, many of us never make it to the point of “being made whole.”

      Being whole is us progressing to the place of being perfect in God! God wants us to come to full age
      of maturity in him spiritually so that we can bring that temple (heart, soul, mind, body) in perfect
      alignment of who Jesus was (while he was in the flesh) in the earth. This happens when we refuse to
      remain as babes drinking milk and begin to eat strong meat!

           Hebrews 5:12: “For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you 
          again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of 
          milk, and not of strong meat.”
          Vs 13: “For every one that useth milk is unskillful in the word of righteousness:for he is a 
          babe.”

          Vs 14: “But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age”!

      Babies can’t eat strong meat. They need pablum, milk, pureed vegetables and fruit, and they babble.
      That’s nothing derogatory against them. That’s just what they do, what they need in that stage of growth.
      But for church folk who have been saved for forty years and are still babbling, drinking milk, and being
      spoon fed, something is wrong with that picture! Something should have happened within that time frame
      to produce a more mature adult!
     The Word of God has to be revealed to us and not given only to inform us! We must [spoudazo] study
      God’s Word! We must make the effort, be prompt, and labour diligently in his Word to show ourselves
     approved unto him, workmen that needeth not be ashamed rightly [orthotome’o] dividing [dissecting,
     making a straight cut, expounding] the divine Word of Truth! (2 Timothy 2:15).

     As an example, we must move from elementary level to college level teaching in the spirit!
          Hebrews 6:1: “Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto 
          perfection”! Sounds like movement to me!! While religion is sitting here waiting for Jesus to come
          back and get them, those of us who know he is here and dwelling in us need to go on and do the
          greater works he said we could do now!  He wants us whole in every area of our life!!

      It’s the tradition of men, philosophy, vain deceit, that has stunted the growth of Christ’s body. So we
      must change our diet of drinking milk and start eating the strong meat of the Word of God! This is what
      will bring us to maturity through the apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers who get hold
      of the revelation and give it to the people of God!

          Ephesians 4:11-13: “And he gave some, apostles; and some prophets; and some evangelists; and 
          some, pastors and teachers; for the perfecting of the saints for the work of the ministry, for the 
          edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of 
         the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ”!

     There’s more to it than just getting saved and waiting for Jesus to come back. It’s getting saved yes, but
      it’s grasping hold of the Jesus that is come to you already, eating of his flesh (The Word), and drinking
      his blood (The Spirit), and becoming him in the earth! We’re ONE with him! He’s the head we’re his
      body, so that makes us ONE in and on the earth! “As he is, so are we in this world”!! (1John 4:17).
     Not up yonder, but right here!!

SALVATION IS AN INHERITANCE!!

• PEACE - eire'ne [eiro - to join]; prosperity; quiet; rest

      1 Corinthians 6:17: “He that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.”

Romans 5:1: “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Philippians 4:7: “And the peace of God which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus”!

Isaiah 26:3: “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.”

PEACE IS AN INHERITANCE!!

• HEALTH - hugia’ino [have sound health, ie be well in body, soul, spirit, mind]; uncorrupt [true in doctrine]; be whole!

We discussed wholeness earlier. We can only be made whole by TRUTH! What is truth? The revelation of who Jesus Christ is NOW IN YOU AND THROUGH YOU! God’s Word in its fullness is what brings wholeness to us! 

3 John 1:2: “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as our soul prospereth.”

Prosperity does not hinge on our bank account, fine home, or nice car, but it hinges on our soul, our psuche, or our English word “psychy” [the seat of our emotions]! We must conquer this “lion” [the old man or old nature], and allow the “Lamb” [the new man, the Christ man] to stand up and rule in us to

experience true prosperity and health!

Isaiah 53:5: “But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed”!

1 Peter 2:24: “Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye WERE healed”.

1 Thessalonians 5:23: “And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly [holoteles’ or absolutely perfect; complete in all areas]; and I pray God your whole [holok’leros or every part of you] spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless [amemp’tos or faultless] unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ”!

It didn’t say until the coming, but unto the coming. UNTO means to or into, indicating the point reached or entered of place, time, or purpose as a result. Plainly stated, God can bring us to the place in the Son that we can be as The Son was in the earth, and that was God in flesh form on the earth! “As he is, so are we.” (1John 4:17)

Jude 24 “Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless [am’momos or unblemished; unblameable; without spot] before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy”!

HEALTH IS AN INHERITANCE!!

• JOY – chara’ [cheerfulness]; calm delight; gladness

In St. John 15, Jesus spoke to his disciples to abide in him and allow his word to abide in them! He was encouraging them in relation to being hated by the world [those bound by organized religion].

Vs 18: “If the world [religious order] hate you, ye know that it hated me before it [autos or they; this man; those; together] hated you”.

Keep in mind those that came against Jesus: Pharisees; Sadducees; the high priest; those that disbelieved every thing Jesus taught and believed! Those that knew “the law” [the written word], but didn’t have enough discernment to recognize the “Living Word” that was in their midst! Religious Order wants to

hold on to that which is traditional, or what they’ve been used to for fifty years, and fight against TRUTH!

Vs 19: “If ye were of the world, the world (system) would love his own: BUT because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you!

Vs 20” “Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you”!

In Mark chapter 1, Jesus came preaching THE KINGDOM OF GOD and religious order hated him! For you to find out who and how much you’ll be hated, just do what Jesus did - preach THE KINGDOM OF GOD!!

St. John 15:11: “These things have I spoken unto you that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full”!

      St. John 16:20: “Verily, verily, I say unto you, “That ye shall weep and lament, but the world shall 
      rejoice: and you shall be sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be turned into joy”!!

      James 1:2-4: “My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into divers temptations; knowing this, 
      that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may 
      be perfect and entire, wanting nothing!!” HALLELUIA!!!

Whatever you may be going through, go on and shout the victory, because it is working for your good!!!

JOY IS AN INHERITANCE!

• RIGHTEOUSNESS - dikaiosu’ne [equity, fairness of character or act]; justification; innocent; holy

We take on the very nature [character] of God!

2 Corinthians 5:21: “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him”!

Galatians 5:22: “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.”

When we’re manifesting these fruit, we won’t be so judgmental and condemning of others, but we will love them. All of us have sinned and come short of the glory of God, but he is a deliverer, healer, restorer, keeper!! He’s everything to us that we need him to be!!

For the judges - Romans 2:1: “Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things”!

Matthew 7:1-3,5: “Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure you mete, it shall be measured to you again. And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, “first” cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see

clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye”!

If we’re not going to pick up a brother or sister, for God’s sake, at least don’t kick them while they’re down! Who art thou that judgest?

St. John 13:34-35: “A new commandment I give unto you, “That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another”!!

This is the manifestation of the righteousness of God!

1 John 3:7-8: “Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous. He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil”!

Vs 9: ”Whosoever is born of God [not just saved] doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. “

Vs 10: “In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, NEITHER he that loveth not his brother”!

Romans 7:13: “Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.”

Revelation 22:11: “He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still”!

What an AWESOME GOD!! He took that which was trash and made it a treasure; that which was in death and gave it life; that which was in darkness and brought it into the Light; that which was blind and caused it to see!!

Thank you Father for your GRACE AND MERCY AND LOVINGKINDNESS TOWARD US!! IT HAS BEEN MADE SO PLAIN TO US THROUGH YOUR SON JESUS THE CHRIST AND PRECIOUS HOLY GHOST THAT DWELLS WITHIN US!! THANK YOU LORD!!!

There is soooo much more in relation to our INHERITANCE! Wisdom, knowledge, understanding!!! Truth! Life [eternal life] is an INHERITANCE!! May this bless those that will receive it in Jesus name!
