Recognize your Purpose”!! / “Take Your Position”!! [Pt.2]

Text:  Ephesians (Shows Christ as Our ALL IN ALL)

·        Ephesians 1:3: Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:  vs 4: According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:  vs 5: Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will:  vs 9-11: Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself:  vs 10: That in the dispensation of the fullness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth, even in him.  Vs 11: In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who works all things after the counsel of his own will.

“   In part one, I left off talking about the “purpose” of our being here in the earth, and that is to manifest God in flesh form in the earth as Jesus did.  1st John 4:17: “As he is, so are we, in this world”!!

The goal or aim our Heavenly Father has set is for us to come to the fullness of the stature (maturity) of Christ!

That’s why God gave us some apostles, and some prophets, and some, evangelists, and some pastors and teachers:  for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:  till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge (epig’nosis) [recognition; full discernment; acknowledgment] of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ (Ephesians 4:11-13).

This “perfect man” we all are to become in the earth is us being the “tel’eios man”, which is Christ’s Body (the church), being complete (whole) as one in labor, growth, mental and moral character, etc.

First of all:   What’s contained in accomplishing this goal that God has purposed for us?

·        Psalm 118:17: I shall not die, but LIVE, and declare the works of the LORD.

·        John 10:10: The thief comes not but for to kill, and to steal, and to destroy:  I am come that they might have LIFE, and that they might have it more abundantly.

·        Romans 12:1: I beseech you therefore brethren by the mercies of God, that you present your body, a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God which is your reasonable (sensible; rational) service.

·        1st Corinthians 6:19: What?  Know you not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which you have of God, and you are not your own?  Vs 20: For you are bought with a price:  therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.

The determination (desire; pleasure) of God for us accomplishing this goal is (John 17) [Jesus’ prayer to the Father for us]:

·        Vs 1: “Father, the hour is come, glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee”.

·        Vs 2: As thou hast given him power (exousi’a) [authority] over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.  Vs 3: And this is life eternal, that they might know (ginos’ko) [allow; be aware (of); feel; have knowledge; perceive; be resolved [settled; have a firm determination] thee, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

When Jesus spoke in relation to “eternal life”, He always used it as pertaining to “man”!  Why is that?  In the definition of life it’s in reference to plants and animals, as well as to mankind.  But Jesus uses “eternal life” in relation to man.  Why?  Because plants have life, but not conscious life; animals have life and conscious life, but not spiritual life; but man has life, conscious life, and he has spiritual life.  This spiritual life connection that man has is not just “oxygenated life”, but it is the inbreathing or breathing in of eternal and everlasting life, that he (male/female) receives from God through the “inhalation” of the breath of the Eternal God, that has His blood in it, that gives eternal life to the flesh.

·        Leviticus 17:11: The life of the flesh is in the blood.

That’s the life source the LORD God exhaled into the man Adam (male/female) in Genesis 2:7, and made them living souls.  That’s the same breath we are “inhaling” today to make us living souls, the Spirit of God with His blood in it!!

·        1st John 5:7: For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost:  and these three are one.  Vs 8: And there are three that bear witness in earth (the body you live in), the spirit, and the water, and the blood:  and these three agree in one.

Do you see how they all work together as one:  the Father and the Spirit; the Word and the water; the Holy Ghost and the blood, and they all agree in one

Agree is the root word eisi’ (i-see’) meaning they are; be; is; were; exist; am; have been; it is I; was.  One is the root word homothumadon’, meaning unanimously; with one accord (mind):  and also at the same place or time;  together.  So, it is the Father (Spirit), Son (the Word), and Holy Ghost (blood) they are, is, were, exist, am, have been, was:  it is I, that’s living unanimously, with one accord, of one mind, in the same place, at the same time in you and in me, right now, present tense!

That’s why Paul said:  Ephesians 2:5: Even when we were dead (past tense) in sins, hath quickened (made alive) us together (suzoopoie’o) [to reanimate (restore to life or consciousness; revived) conjointly] with Christ, (by grace you are saved):  vs 6: And hath (already) raised us up (present tense) together (sunegei’ro) [to rouse (from death) in company with; revive (spiritually); collect our faculties; wakened], and made us sit  together (sugkathi’zo) [to give a seat in company with] in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.

·        Revelation 3 (speaking to the church at Laodicea):  vs 21: To him that overcomes will I grant to sit (kathi’zo) [seat down; set; appoint; to settle; dwell; continue] with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.

So, Jesus Christ the Son, you and I, are all seated together in the same throne (seat of authority) with our Heavenly Father, now!!

This awakening is not folk getting up out of dirt graves out in cemeteries, but it’s God’s people now allowing the sleeping Christ that’s in these dirt graves they’re walking around in on two feet right now, to be awaken by the Holy Ghost within them, or within us, so that He can step forth and manifest through us His dominion, authority and power, outwardly for His glory!

·        Psalm 141:7: Our bones are scattered at the grave’s mouth, as when one cuts and cleaves wood upon the earth.

Look at what Jesus said in Matthew 12:

·        Vs 36: Every idle (lazy; inoperative) word that men shall speak they shall give account thereof in the Day of Judgment.

The “day of judgment” is not some coming event in the future, or some “great getting up morning”.  The “day of judgment” begins when those idle words come forth out of one’s mouth.

·        Vs 37: For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

Back to the “graves”:  Look at what Jesus said to the Pharisees:  Matthew 23:27: Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites!  You are like unto whited sepulchers (graves), which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men’s bones, and of all uncleanness.

That’s why Paul said:  Ephesians 5:14: Awake (egei’ro) [collect your faculties; rouse (from sleep; sitting or lying; disease; death; obscurity; inactivity; ruin; rise up; stand] thou that sleep (out of spiritual lethargy), and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light (epiphau’o) [illuminate] (shine) [with knowledge; understanding; wisdom]!!!

Listen, when the creation fell through the fall of the Adam race of people, the CHRIST was put to sleep in the earth.  But when Jesus died, was buried, and was resurrected, CHRIST was awakened in the earth!!  HALLELUJAH!!!

·        1st Corinthians 15:22: In Adam all die:  even so in CHRIST, shall all be made alive!!!  [I’ve got to take a praise break]!!

As Jesus said to His Father:  John 17:2:  As thou hast given him power over all flesh that he should give eternal life, to as many as thou hast given him”.

I belong to God and so do you, so that gives us rights to this ETERNAL LIFE!!

·        Vs 3: And this is life eternal, that they might know (ginos’ko) [allow; be aware of; feel; have knowledge; be resolved; can speak; be sure; understand] thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

This tells us that we’ve got to KNOW something to LIVE!!  Hosea 4:6: My people are destroyed for the lack (absence; deficiency; scarcity; deprivation) of knowledge.

Paul prayed for the people of God at Ephesus:  Ephesians 1:17: That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation (understanding deep mysteries) in the knowledge (full discernment; recognition; acknowledgement] of him:  vs 18: The eyes (spiritual vision) of your understanding (dian’oia) [deep thought; mind], being enlightened (made to see), that you may know (ei’do) [be aware; consider; be sure; understand] what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints.

How many know that we are God’s “heritage”, as Peter spoke of in 1st Peter 5 (speaking to the overseers):  vs 3: Neither as being lords (iron fist rulers; supreme) over God’s heritage, but being ensamples (good examples) to the flock.

We are His “allotment”, His remnant, or them that believe in and have accepted the Son.  We are His chosen few, or the elect (select) of God.

·        John 15:16: You have not chosen me, but I have chosen you and ordained you, that you should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain:  that whatsoever you shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

God chose and selected us for divine purpose, but to fulfill the purpose we must be in the right position to accomplish our assignment of manifesting Christ in the earth, to glorify the Father!!

Take your rightful place as a son of God, which moves us in position for kingship or ruling authority, and also priests, so that we can intercede for others!!

·        Revelation 1:5: And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first-begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth.  Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood:  vs 6: And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father:  to him be glory and dominion forever and ever.  Amen!

But in Revelation 5:10, it takes it a bit further and says that in addition to us being made unto our God kings and priests, but also that we shall reign on (over) the earth.

So, this tells me that we don’t have to go “up yonder” to rule and reign with Christ, as has been said and is still being said by religious teachers.  First of all, there’s nothing “up there” to rule over.  The ruling and reigning we need to do is to be done right here and right now where we already are, “on the earth”.  That is, because God has given us the same dominion He gave to Adam (male/female) to rule and reign over the creation in Genesis.

Many of God’s people are so “heavenly minded” until they’re no “earthly good”!  But when people get the revelation, that they’re already in heaven in Christ Jesus, that would be a major defeat to the enemy!

Heaven defined in Hebrew is shama’yim, meaning, to be lofty [high; towering].  In the Greek it is ouranos’, meaning elevation [promotion; advancement]; heaven (as the abode of God); happiness; power; eternity; the Gospel.

With these definitions of heaven, whether Hebrew or Greek, it is a high place!!  In God we can be and are in a “high place” of happiness, power, and eternity, understanding the Gospel (good news) of Jesus Christ, without sailing out of here through the clouds to get to where God is!  The “good news” is, knowing that He (God) is present with us and in us, and we are in Him through Jesus Christ!!

The “good news” is, we are already “in heaven”, being in Christ Jesus!  Ephesians 2:5: Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace are you saved):  vs 6: And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.

More “good news” is told to us in 1st John 4:4: You are of God, little children (darlings), and have overcome them:  because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

·        2nd Corinthians 6:16: What agreement hath the temple of God with idols?  You are the temple of the living God.  As God hath said, “I will dwell in them, and walk in them:  and I will be their God, and they shall be my people”.

We’re still talking about recognizing our purpose and taking our position in God.

We are on the earth, but God has ordained us to have power and authority in this earth realm and over the creation, as He did with Adam.

·        Genesis 1:26: And God said ”Let us make man in our image, after our likeness:  and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth”.

Over, in Webster, is defined as extending directly upward from; extending above (a general area) from a vantage point; expressing passage or trajectory across or beyond.  In Hebrew “over” it is al, which means above or against; according to (ly) after; because of; through (out); touching; with.

The power and authority God gave the Adam race extended beyond the flesh realm, but the power worked in them according to what God had placed in them, as touching that which was also spiritual.  First of all they found that even being people (male/female), God had placed the ability within them, to be His ambassadors (diplomats ordained by God) representing God as gods to reign over the earth.

·        Genesis 1:27: So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him:  male and female created he them.  Vs 28: And God blessed them, and God said unto them, “Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue (kabash’) [to tread down; conquer; subjugate; violate; bring into bondage; force; keep under] it:  and have dominion (radah’) [to tread down; subjugate; (come to; make to) have dominion; prevail against; reign; (bear, make to) rule (-r; over), take] over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moves upon the earth”.

The Adam race being fruitful, multiplying, and replenishing the earth wasn’t them just bringing forth natural children, but it was them being fruitful (manifesting God’s nature and character in the earth); multiplying and replenishing (was them bringing forth more sons of God [male/female] in the earth), walking in the same dominion, authority, and power that they had as God’s ambassadors, His representatives in and over the earth!

The same God then, is the same God now!  He wants the Christ race, to operate in this same dominion, authority and power as His ambassadors right now in and over the earth!!  That’s why Jesus said:

·        Luke 10:19:  Behold (look; see), I give unto you power (exousi’a)[ability; freedom; liberty; jurisdiction; authority] to tread (pate’o) [to trample; tread (down; under foot)] on serpents (devious people whispering lies [untruth’s] to God’s people) and scorpions (those spewing out poisonous death messages; and not messages of life), and over all the power of the enemy:  and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

·        Acts 1:8: And you shall receive power (dunamis’) [miracle working power] after that the Holy Ghost is come up-on you!

Being that we have the Holy Ghost in us, that gives us the ability and the power to do what we as a body has been placed here to do, through Christ!!!

So walk in the PURPOSE of God and take your rightful POSITION in Christ Jesus and let us start ruling and reigning today!!  Therefore, we must work the Word, so we can work the works in Jesus name!!!
