“THE MAN GOD”! (Part 1)

TEXT:  Hebrews 2:6 But one in a certain place testified, saying, “What is man, that thou art mindful of him?  Or the son of man, that thou visitest him”?
Hebrews was written to newly converted Jews, and it was written at a time when the temple in Jerusalem was ready to be destroyed.  They were going to have to face the fact that the sacrifices were being done away with because Jesus their Intercessor has now become the ultimate sacrifice!  Now all they had to do was look to Christ!

In this Chapter, Christ is united with “man”.  God created “man” to have “lordship” over all things.  We are not just little peons running around down here with a great big God sitting up beyond the blue.  According to the Prophet Isaiah 7:14, “Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel”.  Immanuel means God with us!  Then in St. Matthew chapter one, it was manifested because Jesus was born.  Verse 21 tells us that he was also called Jesus “for he shall save his people from their sins”.
This lets us know that we are not separated from God with us being here and God up yonder!  God is in us!  Now with Him being in us, God created man to have lordship over all things.  I’m talking about the “man God” (we His people) having lordship!  This means that Christ has become one with man, sharing with man His temptations and sufferings and even death itself.  Romans 6:4 “Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death:  that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life”.  Through this sharing, Jesus might enable “man” to become one with Him – to share with Him [Jesus] His nature and His dominion.

Because of this, Christ has been crowned with glory and honor.  Also because of this, “Man” (mankind; male and female), in his efforts to become one with Christ, doth qualify for His glory and His inheritance!  Because we are joint heirs with Christ, everything that He had or has belongs to us!  Romans 8:17 “And if children [sons], then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together”.  So God wants us to be assured that Christ is gracious, kind, and understanding and will be helpful to those of us who love Him!  We’re talking about the “Man God”!

First we’re going to take a look at God.  St. John 4:24 “God is a Spirit:  and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth”.  Honestly speaking, we have not been worshipping Him in the truth that He desires for years because we haven’t been given truth, not in its totality!  We are in a time now that God wants us to have all of the Word!  Not some of it or part of it but all of the WORD OF GOD!  St. Matthew 4:4 “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God”.

We know that God is “Spirit”!  God has many names:  El Elyon [the Most High God]; Adonai [our Master]; El Shadai [God almighty]; Jehovah Jireh [our provider]; Jehovah Nissi [our banner]; Jehovah Shamah [He’s right there, always with us]; Jehovah Sabaos [Lord of the heavenly host]; Jehovah Makai [our smiter]; Jehovah Makedesh [our sanctifier]; Jehovah Roi [sees all]; Jehovah Rapha [our healer]; Jehovah Raah [our Shepherd]; Jehovah Tsidqenu [our Righteousness]!  So God is everything that we need!
But when you look up the name "God" in the Hebrew, it means “Eloheem” [our Creator]!  It means “gods” in the ordinary sense, but specifically, it is the Supreme God!  And the Supreme God He is!!  Because it was “elohiym” that spoke the universe into existence!  Looking at the name Elohiym, we must look at it in two parts.  “El” and “hiym”.  As “sons” we need to be taught the Word of God!  What I care about a little ten minute sermonette is nothing!  When it comes to the people of God, we have to take time and cook, so that we can serve them a full course meal!  When we eat properly, we feel better, and that’s in the natural.  How much more in the Spirit when we feed our “spirit man” with the truth of God’s Word!

So when you look at “Elohiym”, the first part of it “El” shows God as powerful and mighty!  It even means having extended control or sustaining power!  But then when you look at the ending, “hiym” [some pronounced it “Elohim” or “Eloheem”] is the plural of God!  That’s why He said in Genesis 1:26 “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness:  and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth”.  He didn’t just say, “I am going to make man”.  He said, "Let us make man”!  Isn’t “us” a plural pronoun which covers more than one?  God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness”.  In other words, God is talking to people that He has put in the same place He is in, but He [God] is the Most High God!!  That was God talking to the “Man” [male and female] God”!
By using the plural “Elohiym”, is that saying that there is more than “one” God?  No, it is not!  Isaiah 45:5 states, “I am the LORD, and there is none else, there is no God besides me:  I girded thee though thou hast not known me:  that they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none besides me.  I am the LORD, and there is none else”!  Deuteronomy 6:4: “Hear, O Israel:  The LORD our God is one LORD”.  And when you look at 1 Corinthians 6:17, it stated, "But he that is joined unto the Lord is one Spirit”.  So when you speak of “Elohiym”, that means you’re covering the total of the Godhead!  You’re covering the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost that includes us because he resides in you and in me!

We are talking about the subject “the Man God”, the plural of “Elohiym”!  St. John 1:1-2:  “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  The same was in the beginning with God”.  This word “same” covers the scope of plural personal pronouns: he, she them, they, their, it [the creation], meaning “we” were with Him in the beginning!  Then verse 14 states, “And the Word was made flesh”!  This is speaking of Jesus Christ!  How many know that JESUS was “The Man God” because God put on flesh through His Son Jesus Christ to bring the creation back unto Himself!  2 Corinthians 5:19: “To wit [know], that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation”.  That’s why in Genesis 1:1-3: “In the beginning God [Elohiym] created the heaven and the earth.  And the earth was without form, and void, and darkness was upon the face of the deep.  And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.  And God said, Let there be light:  and there was light”.
Now between Genesis 1:1 and Genesis 1:2, there was another creation or other creations.  The reason I believe this is because in Genesis 1:2, it says, “The earth was without form and void, and darkness was upon the face of the deep”.  Remember what Paul said in 1 Corinthians 15:48: “As is the earthy, such are they also, that are earthy”.  The Greek word for Earthy is choikos’ , meaning dusty; dirty; a heap as poured out; rubbish; in a scorned place; also from “chasma”, meaning to yawn [become drowsy or dull]; a vacancy or chasm [or empty place].  In Genesis 1:10 God called the “dry” land Earth.  The word “dry” being "yabesh", meaning to be ashamed, confused, disappointed.  The earth has to symbolize the people who had become without form ["to’huw" or confused; a worthless thing; vain] and become void ["bo’huw" or empty of the very mind, understanding, wisdom, power and authority of God].  The darkness that was in the deep [or abyss] was "choshek", meaning misery, destruction, death, ignorance, sorrow, wickedness; obscurity, to be dim or dark [as withholding the light].

In Genesis 1:28, God told man [Adam; male and female] to “Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it:  and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth”.  This signifies that the earth before at some point was “PLENISHED”!  Plenish comes from the Latin "plenus" or “full”; to fill up, stock, or furnish.  It’s the state of being full or complete; in abundance; fruitful; great plenty!
When you see the prefix “RE”, that means to do again!  The “waters” the Spirit of God moved on were peoples, multitudes, nations, tongues [Revelation 17:15].  There were kingdoms established and people ruling and reigning, and the earth was yielding to them in abundance all they needed by the power of the Living God!

So even before “ADAM” came on the scene, something chaotic had to have happened prior to that between Genesis 1:1 and Genesis 1:2.   The “light” [the “owr” or the illumination; knowledge; understanding] of God that was being manifested in these people was interrupted or withheld from them because of their wickedness!
Some food for thought:  Job 38:4-7:  “Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth?  ... Who hath laid the measures there of, if thou knowest?  Or who hath stretched the line upon it?  Whereupon are the “foundations” thereof fastened?   Or who laid the cornerstone thereof  [these “foundations” are not bricks]  When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy”?

Psalm 82:1-8:  Verse 1 “God standeth in the congregation of the mighty; he judgeth among the gods”.  Vs 5 “They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness:  all the foundations of the earth are out of course”.  Vs 6 “I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High”!
Isaiah 14:12-17):  “How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning!  how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!"  Lucifer’s name means "heylel", or the morning star, because of the “brightness” or the glory of God that was working through him.  Lucifer was  a MAN!  Vs. 16 “They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did  shake kingdoms, that made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof”.

I would like to point out something very interesting:  Religion teaches that Adam and Eve were the only two in the garden of Eden.  If that is true, how did the King of Tyrus in Ezekiel 28 get in there?  For the entire text, read Ezekiel 28:12-19. But focus on verses 13-15
Ezekiel 28:13-15:  “Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold:  the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created.  Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so:  thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.  Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee”.

2 Peter 2:4:  “For if God spared not the angels [messengers] that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment”.

Jude 6:  “And the angels [messengers] which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day”.
God still wants somebody that has His blood in their face!  That’s why He said in Genesis 1:3, “Let there be light”!  The word “light” denotes “knowledge”!  He still wants some people that will take on His mind and walk totally in His knowledge, understanding, wisdom, power and authority!  The word “man” or “Adam” [male and female] means to show blood in the face!  Genesis 1:4, “And God saw the “light”, that it was good”!  What God saw was people manifesting His very glory in their faces!

In Genesis 1:5:  “And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night.  And the evening and the morning were the first day”.  He didn’t say the “morning and the evening”.  Do we not look at the morning and the evening as “the day”?  God looked at it as the reversal.  He said “the evening and the morning” were the first day.  Why did He say that?  Because He had a plan to raise up a special people out of utter chaos.
“Evening” denotes dusk or darkness.  When we move into the “evening”, we are facing “darkness”.  That’s what was wrong with those peoples, multitudes, nations, tongues.  They were facing the darkness, but when God said, “Let there be light”, that was the dispelling of the darkness and the dawning of the new day for them.  It happened for the Adam people; it is happening for us!  Use yourself as an example, and I’m using myself as an example:  Before we accepted Jesus Christ as Saviour, we were in the evening facing or walking in darkness [misery, ignorance, sorrow, death, destruction, ruin], but when we accepted Jesus Christ as Saviour, that was the dawning of the new day for us!  And the light of God dispelled the darkness that was around us!  Now you see, that was our first day!  All those other days, [the second, third, fourth, fifth, and sixth days] are stages of growth that we must grow through to get to the seventh day [completeness; perfection] in God!  Still talking about the “Man God” that you and I are!

When you look at “Man”, Webster defines him as "an adult or full grown male, or the human race, any human being whether you are male or female".  But when you look at “Man” through the eyes of God, he [man] is the very concept, the thought, the image, the impression, the thought in the Divine Mind of God.  He [man] is the epitome of Being!  Meaning the epitome of one’s existence!  That is why God’s name is “Yehovah” or “Jehovah” meaning the Lord; self-Existent or Eternal God.
Did you get that revelation?!  When you start talking about “self”, you are talking about the complete or essential “being” of a person!  You see, God is “Spirit”, but yet He manifested Himself in the “person” of Jesus the Christ!  When you talk about “persons”, you’re talking about “people”!  So that makes “us” the “man God”!  In  “Genesis” when God said, “Let us [male and female] make man in our image and after our likeness”, He was talking to the gods [who were to do what He was doing in creation in the way of power, dominion, and authority.

The synonym for “genesis” is:  creation; origin; formation; beginning; construction; manufacturing; erection; putting together; development; workmanship; growth; fertilization; perfection; to breed; or to bring forth!  Genesis [genes-is]; it’s in the “genes” of God; the “gene-rations” of God!  So from the point God said, "Let there be", there has been a "formation" of men [male and female] reproducing and fulfilling the plan of God, manifesting His presence in the earth.

Remember in Genesis 1:2:  “And the Spirit of God moved on the face of the waters”.  We know that those “waters” were people (Revelation 17:15).  “The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues”.  That word “moved” means to produce or bring forth.  The SPIRIT OF GOD [the breath of God; the voice of God] moved on and delivered them and is now delivering peoples, nations, multitudes, and tongues from the chaos that was in the creation then and from the chaos that is in creation even today!
God has not changed.  He is the same yesterday, today, and forever [Hebrews  13:8].   Malachi 3:6:  “For I am the LORD, I change not”!  God wanted people that had His “mind”!  He still does!

Another definition of the word “light” is luminary!  A luminary is a person that has the ability to enlighten mankind or others!  God was saying let there be some people that can enlighten mankind or others!!!!  And it was so!!!  That’s why God was able to rest on the seventh day!  It didn’t mean that He laid back and kicked His heels up!  But He had some people made in His image and after His likeness that could do what He was doing!!  The “Man God” [male and female]!  God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness” [Genesis 1:26].
When you look at Genesis, you are looking at the birth of the creation!  God is bringing forth “Man” with everything else He created.  Yet He chose to dwell in “Man”!  Because God lives in Man, that makes the “Man” God!  As you look through the Old Testament, you are seeing “God men”!  God was in Adam who was both male and female.  Genesis 1:27:  “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.  Genesis 5:1-2:  “This is the book of the generations of Adam.  In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him; male and female created he them; and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created”.  All you have to do is look at the names of those God “people”!

Now when the “Adam” race fell, God raised up Cain and Abel through Adam.  We know that Cain killed his brother Abel!  We still have some “Cain” spirited people in the Church today!  All you have to do is tell them how able (Abel) you are to do all things through Christ who strengthens you; tell them how able (Abel) we are to live eternally in these bodies we are in; tell them how able (Abel) we are to live above sin and watch the Cain’s tell you that you can’t (Cain’t)!  They will kill you with their words or their tongues!

Then after Cain killed Abel, God gave Adam and his wife another seed instead of Abel and called him Seth.  Seth’s name denotes “destiny" meaning what’s to come, an order of things, predestination or a predetermination.  God saw the ending in the beginning!  “For God said she, hath appointed me another seed instead of Abel, whom Cain slew” (Genesis 4:25).
Then a son was born to Seth, whose name was Enos.  Genesis 4:26:  "And he called his name Enos:  then began men to call upon the name of the Lord".  That word “upon” means after.  So it was then that men began to call themselves after the name of the Lord.  Enos” means mortal, miserable, weak or a wicked man.  That’s the kind of state that man needs to be in or will find himself in when he runs out of his own efforts and finds out that he himself can’t deliver himself but must depend on a higher power or greater source than himself!  It is then that he begins to call on the name of the Lord.  Why was he (Enos) able to call on the name of the Lord?  Because of what his father Seth (who was the seed of Adam) had taught him.  Seth was a type of Christ; his name means to replace.  Christ became our substitute.  Hallelujah!  So the seed that Seth had planted in Enos was there!  And when Enos found himself in this weak, melancholy, miserable, destructive and wicked state, he was able to draw from the Word that had already been planted within him by his father Seth!  Proverbs 22:6:  “Train up a child in the way he should go:  and when he is old, he will not depart from it”.

Genesis 4:26 states, “Then began men to call upon the name of the LORD”, or “after” the name of the Lord!  The God “men” began calling themselves after the name of the Lord!!  Hallelujah!!  Look at Genesis chapter five and check out the names of those people!  “El” means God!  “Yah” also means God!  Here are some of the biblical names:  Mahalaleel; Jared (Yared); Methusalah; Noah; Isaiah; Samuel;  Joel; Ezekiel; Daniel; Zechariah; Zephaniah; Jeremiah!!  These are God “men”!  They began to call themselves “after” the name of the Lord because they were coming back into the understanding of who they were with God from the beginning!  They knew that bloodline came from God!  Luke 3:38:  “Which was the son of Enos, which was the son of Seth, which was the son of Adam, which was the son of God”!  These men named in Genesis chapter five and the Prophets all had God’s name!  These were God “men”!
In Genesis chapter six the “sons” of God began to take up with the daughters of men.  So God cleaned house again with the flood.  It was the “ungodly” that the flood destroyed, not the “godly”!  Then in Genesis 11, men began to build a city and a tower (pulpit; rostrum) so that they could have a name!  They called or gave themselves names then as men have done today:  Baptist, Catholic, Pentecostal, Holiness, Presbyterian, etc….  When in actuality there is only one God!!  We are all one in Christ.  Galatians 3:28 “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female:  for ye are all one in Christ Jesus".  And it doesn’t take getting baptized in a baptismal pool to connect you with Christ.  Because all that is is a ceremony showing that you are burying that old man and rising anew!  But it is only by one Spirit are we baptized into Christ.  1 Corinthians 12:13: “For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit”.  Galatians 3:27:  “For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ”.  The only way to be baptized into Christ is by the SPIRIT!

But in Genesis 11, God came down to visit the city and the tower, and He confused their languages!  Today they are still confused!  There are those that will argue over how you should be baptized.  Some say, “In the name of the Lord Jesus”; some say “In Jesus name”; others say, “In the name of the Father, Son, and the Holy Ghost”.  Whichever one you choose is alright, but after all that, we still need the baptism of the Holy Ghost and fire!  St. Matthew 3:11:  I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance:  but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear:  he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire”.  The only thing that is going to remove confusion out of the Churches today is the revelation of the Christ, the Truth of the Word of God!  When God reveals Truth of His Word to you, you don’t have to argue about the Word of God!  The Word of God will stand and speak for itself!
Now we know that it was by “man” that the creation fell, so then it had to be through “man” that the creation be restored!  And that was through the “Man” Jesus the Christ!

Those Old Testament Prophets did not walk in the total of God because Jesus had not yet come as Mary’s baby.  But God used those men and women in powerful ways!  They were God “men” and God “women”!  But when Jesus came on the scene, the total of the Father was contained in that “Man Jesus”!  He was the “Man God”!  From that point, the “Man God” gave us all that he had!!  Then that makes us the “Man God”!
Someone may say, “Sounds to me like you’re trying to say that we are gods”!  Well, that is exactly what I am saying because Jesus said it!  Anything that He says, I (we) can say!  St. John 10:34:  "Jesus answered them, 'Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods'?"  [Also reference Psalm 82:1-6].  Also in 1 John 4:17, the latter part of that verse states, “Because as he is, so are we in this world”!  Not up beyond the blue, but right here!  Just as it is written in Galatians 4:4:  “But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, to redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons”.

He (Jesus) had on flesh, and He was God in flesh form.  In the fullness of time for you and me, we were manifested in a flesh body!  St. John 1:11-13:  “He came unto his own, and his own received him not.  But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:  which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God”.  There are some of us that are here not just because our parents got together, but we are here because God sent us here!!!
Even for some of the children that were conceived out of wedlock, how do you know, Mr. & Mrs. Judge, that God didn’t send that seed here?  Where is the love of God?  Let’s love them through the situation!

Proverbs 10:12:  “Hatred stirreth up strifes:  but love covereth all sins”.

St. John 3:16:  “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life”.

Romans 5:8:  “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us”.

Romans 8:1:  “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit”.  God wants us to be led by His Spirit and not do things our own way.  Romans 8:14:  “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God”.  God can lead you into whatever He wants to and use that trial to get out of you what He wants out of you that is not like Him.  He will use whatever means necessary because He is the Potter, and we are the clay!
