ACTIVATE THE WORD OF GOD!!!

TEXT:  ISAIAH 55:8-11

Isaiah has 66 chapters; 1,292 verses; 308 commands; 37,044 words; 190 questions; 120 promises; 71 distinct messages from God.  Isaiah is the 23rd book of the Bible.  It is a miniature version of the Bible, having 66 chapters in the first section dealing with the law and judgment and corresponding with the message of the 39 books of the Old Testament.  There are 27 chapters in the second section, corresponding with the 27 books of the New Testament both in number and messages of comfort and salvation through Christ.  

The theme of the first section is one of coming judgment upon Israel and captivity because of sin and apostasy, judgment on many Gentile nations, and the latter-day restoration of Israel under their Messiah.  

The theme of the last section is one of mercy, comfort, and eternal restoration under the Messiah.

The purpose of the book of Isaiah was to make God’s message clear to Israel - to warn them of judgment for persisting in sin and to reveal the final dealings of God with them in complete restoration under their Messiah.

Isaiah is the son of Amoz.  He was a prophet during the reign of Hezekiah, King of Judah (2 Kings 19:20).  His name means “Jehovah is salvation; help of Jah; Jehovah succors”.  It means assistance and support in times of hardship and distress.  It means deliverance of Jehovah; welfare of Jah; prosperity of Jehovah.

Isaiah’s name means the higher self or “the God power” (Jehovah is salvation) that is in us which discerns the reality, and the real character of the spiritual man (the Christ), and fearlessly proclaims it!  It is “spiritual understanding”!

Philippians 3:10  That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death.  This doesn’t mean we have to die physically because Jesus took our place in that.  

St. John 3:16  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life”!

Our focus for this message is on Isaiah 55:11  So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth:  it shall not return unto me void (empty) but it shall accomplish (achieve; complete successfully, manage, fulfill, realize, attain, execute, perform, consummate, conclude) that which I please, and it shall prosper (flourish physically; grow strong and healthy; thrive; bloom; blossom; to progress),  in the thing [a word], by implication, a matter [as spoken], whereto I sent it.

The power and effects of God’s Word are never cancelled or rendered void.  His Word will bring either spiritual life to those who receive it or condemnation to those who reject it.  

St. Mark 16:16  He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.  

St. John 3:17-18  God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.  He that believeth on him is not condemned:  but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

“ACTIVATE THE WORD OF GOD”!

Activate means to make (something) active or operative!  Synonyms for activate are:  operate; switch on; turn on; start-up; trigger off; set in motion.

Everything was set in motion in Genesis 1:3 when God said Let there be!  When God speaks, things happen.  There is not a single word of God that is without power.  As we speak, things will happen.  Deuteronomy 30:14  But the word is very nigh unto thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart, that thou mayest do it.  

Proverbs 18:21  Death and life are in the power of the tongue.  

Matthew 12:37  For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

That’s why it’s time to “activate the WORD OF GOD”!!

As Isaiah spoke, it was God’s Word.  As the apostles and all the prophets of God spoke, it was the Word of God.  When they spoke, things happened.  When and as we speak, it is the Word of God!  Everything Jesus spoke was the Word of GOD for He was and is after all GOD!  

Luke explicitly said in Luke 5:1 that when people heard Jesus, they heard the Word of God!

Jesus introduced in His sayings with I say unto you!  Jesus had divine authority within Himself to speak the Word of God.  We have divine authority within ourselves to speak the Word of God.  Does not the Word of God state that As He is, so are we in this world? (1 John 4:17).  Jesus said in Luke 10:19  Behold, I give unto you power or exousi’a meaning in the sense of ability; privilege; force; capacity; freedom; token of control; superhuman; jurisdiction; authority!

NOW IS THE TIME for US to “ACTIVATE THE WORD OF GOD”!!!

The centurion told our Lord Jesus Christ, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof:  but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed. (Matthew 8:8). SAME WORD THEN, SAME WORD NOW!!!  SAME GOD THEN, SAME GOD NOW!!!

God’s Word still stands!  It still performs!  It still manifests the power of God!  The same Word is still warning!  It is still saving!  It is still convicting!  It is still changing the stony hearts of men into flesh!  It is still healing!  It is still alive and well!  It’s time to “activate the Word of God”!  

Hebrews 4:12  The Word of God is quick (in the sense of being alive), and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.  

Revelation 19:14-15 describes very well the Word of God out of the mouth of the body of Christ:  And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.  And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations [imaginations; condemnations; damnations; abominations; denominations]!!!  The “sword”, the “Word”, will smite them to pieces, and it’s coming out of the mouth of the “Body of Christ”, which we are!  Are we not His body?  

1 Corinthians 12:12  For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body:  so also is Christ.  Vs 27  Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.   

“IT’S TIME TO ACTIVATE THE WORD OF GOD”!!

WHY MUST WE ACTIVATE THE WORD?  

1. His Word is how we access God’s creative power!
2. The Bible contains His Words!
3. The Bible contains His promises!
4. The Bible contains His guarantees for provisions!
5. The Word contains God’s creative ability!  

There is nothing magical about it, and it’s not mystical.  It is His revealed plans and purposes as He has revealed them to humanity!

God’s miracle working ability is contained within our thoughts and words, just waiting to be released into the earth!  God is waiting on us to “activate His Word” in the earth through our actions and faith confessions!

WHY MUST WE ACTIVATE THE WORD OF GOD?  

Because Jesus Himself said in St. John 5:25  Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice (disclosure; articulation; revelation) of the Son of God:  and they that hear shall live!  (Vs 28) Marvel not at this:  for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves (a remembrance) shall hear his voice.  He is not talking about the “graves” out in the cemeteries but those walking around on two feet.  

Matthew 23:27  Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites!  For you are like unto whited sepulchers, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men’s bones, and of all uncleanness.  

Luke 11:44: Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites!  for ye are as graves, which appear not, and the men that walk over them are not aware of them.  

Romans 3:13  Their throat is an open sepulcher; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips.  

The “graves” are those who are breathing but have not yet “been made alive” IN CHRIST!  They are saved but sitting in the prison houses of religious order bound by philosophy, vain deceit, tradition of men, and rudiments of the world, and not after Christ (Colossians 2:8).  They haven’t come to the revelation of the truth of who they are in Christ and who He is in them!!!  But when they (the walking dead) eventually “come to themselves”, they will be made alive in Christ as the “prodigal son”.

Luke 15:17  And when he came to himself ... Verse 18  I will arise and go to my father!  It (the return to the “Father”) is going to happen through the preaching of the fullness of the gospel that Jesus is here residing “IN US”, and we can overcome right here and right now and not beyond the blue!!!

When those bound by the systems of men do “come out from those prison walls”, all it will be to them is a “remembrance” of what was because the “truth has made them free”!!  A “remembrance” is that which is remembered; a retained memory; something kept in mind. On one hand, you will look back at the chains God broke and destroyed from your life, and you might take a glance back at the prison doors God slammed in the devil’s face after He delivered you.  It will only be a “remembrance”!   And on the other hand, after “coming to yourself”, you will “remember” that you were with Him in the beginning!!!  

St. John 1:1-2  In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  The SAME (that was US) was in the beginning with God.  Verse 14  And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us!   Jesus was made “flesh” and so were we!  

1 John 4:17  As he is, so are we in this world!

Ephesians 5:30  We are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones!  

John 8:32  You shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free!

HOW DO WE ACTIVATE THE WORD OF GOD?

1. By Studying:  2 Timothy 2:15  Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.  

Studying is more than “reading”.  Study means that we must cut up, anatomize, dissect, examine, analyze the Word of God as the Holy Ghost takes the covers off and reveals the “truth”!!

2. Meditating:  Joshua 1:8  This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate [muse; ponder; plan; intend; think on] therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein:  for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.
3. Confessing:  In the Greek, “confessing” is from the root word “homologe’o”, meaning to say the same thing!  We must say the same thing God is saying in His Word!!!  When we become “ONE”, we will say the “same thing”!!  

Ephesians 4:13  Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of

God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.  

Acts 17:26  And hath made of one blood all nations of men (male and female) for to dwell on all

the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their

habitation.

In Revelation 1:10-13, John heard a great voice, as of a trumpet, saying, I am Alpha and

Omega, the first and the last.  When he turned to see the “voice”, he saw seven golden

candlesticks, and in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man, clothed

with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle!  John is in “the

Spirit”!  Verse 20  The seven candlesticks which thou sawest are the seven churches.  

We are THE CHURCH!  The “Body of Christ” is the “church”!!  So the “great voice” that John

heard  was “the CHURCH” (the Body of Christ) all saying the same thing, “I AM ALPHA”!!!

AMEN!!!!  HALLELUJAH!!!!!

4. Believe the Word:  In order to get results, you’ve got to have “faith”!!  

Hebrews 11:6  But without faith it is impossible to please him:  for he that cometh to God must

believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN WE ACTIVATE THE WORD?

1. We’re opening the door of knowledge for others so that they will be able to know the truth!
2. It will tear down the fixed traditional religious thoughts that follow the letter of the law rather than the living Truth!
3. Others will come to know that we must know Christ by the Spirit.  God can only be known by means of a supernatural revelation of Himself!  Christ made it clear when He said in St. John 3:3  Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.  

Romans 14:17  The kingdom of God is not meat and drink, but righteousness, peace, and joy in

the Holy Ghost.  

Luke 17:20-21  The kingdom of God cometh not with observation (natural ocular vision):  Neither

shall they say, Lo here!  or, lo there!  for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you!

1 Corinthians 4:20  The kingdom of God is not in word, but in power.  

That word “power” is from the root word “dunamis”, meaning miraculous power or a miracle itself!  A supernatural knowledge of God produces a supernatural experience, and this is something that we already very well know.  We also know that this is something to which multitudes of church members (bound by religious order) are total strangers to.  Most of “religion” today is but a touching up of the “old Adam”.  It’s merely a garnishing of “sepulchres” full of corruption.  It’s an outward form.  

2 Timothy 3:5  Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof:  from such turn away.  Religion knows Jesus by the “flesh”, but the Sons know Him by the Spirit!  

2 Corinthians 5:16  Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh:  yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more!!!  We must “KNOW HIM” by the SPIRIT!!!

IT’S TIME TO ACTIVATE / SET IN MOTION THE WORD OF GOD!!!

St. Mark 16:17-18  These signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils;  they shall speak with new tongues:  they shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

Luke 4:18-19  The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, to preach the acceptable year of the Lord.

WHEN WE ACTIVATE THE WORD OF GOD:

1. It will impart “new life”!  2 Corinthians 5:17  Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature:  old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
2. It will release:  grace, power, and revelation by which believers grow in their faith and commitment to Jesus the Christ, and this is what will manifest.   St. Mark 16:16-17  He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.  And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues”.  Luke 4:18-19 (see above).  Luke 10:19  Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy:  and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

THE TIME IS NOW!!  GO AND “ACTIVATE MY WORD”, and remember Isaiah 55:11  So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

Romans 10:14  How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed?  and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard?  and how shall they hear without a preacher?  Verse 15  And how shall they preach except they be sent?  as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!
