Prophetic Scripture: Division of Psalms 65
Psalms has 150 divisions; 2,461 verses; and 43,743 words.
Text: Psalms 65:11
Thou crownest the year with thy goodness; and thy paths drop fatness. (KJV)
You crown the year with a bountiful harvest; even the hard pathways overflow with abundance. (New Living Translation)
God always wants our future to be bright. According to Psalms 65:11, God’s intention is to surround us with abundance and blessing.
It states that He crowns our year with a bountiful harvest! In Hebrew, the word crown means to surround. God wants your year surrounded with good things from Him. Of course, the Lord knows that there are plenty of things in this world which try to prevent us from feeling like we are experiencing God’s goodness. There are things that try to steal our peace, health, provision, joy, and much more. Jesus said that we would experience tribulation in this world but that He has overcome the world (John 16:33).
So in other words, while there are many forms of tribulation that try to enter your life, God always has a divine plan for you to come out of it into abundance. 1st Corinthians 10:13 says, There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that you are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
His desire is for you to experience His goodness in such a way that even the most difficult experiences from last year or even the last several years will begin to turn around, and around, and around. Psalms 65:11 says, Even the hard pathways overflow with abundance.
This is the picture that we need to expect for the upcoming year. We need to expect God’s goodness to surround our year with good!!!
He not only gives us songs of joy, but He actually calls for them in the morning.
He Cares for Your Needs! He gives hope! He gives joy! He takes care of the land! He waters the ground and blesses the crops! As far removed as most of our society is from the soil, we need to always remember to thank the Lord for His blessings on the ground and its crops. These are the source of all our food in one way or another. These blessings represent life.

The words bounty, overflow, abundance, clothed, covered, mantled, shout and sing are all expressions of the manner and amount of God’s blessings in our lives. No one can ever accuse God of giving stingily or beggarly or grudgingly. He gives generously, bountifully, liberally and abundantly.
God’s purse is not a bag with a drawstring with a mousetrap hidden inside. A crow bar isn’t needed to pry a dollar from His wallet. Lincoln doesn’t squeak when leaving the Lord’s hand.
When He gives rain, it falls in a copious outpouring. When He blesses a harvest, it is earmarked by His signature of abundance. The average yield is a blessing. The normal amount of produce is wonderful, but, all things being equal, you don’t consider the normal, expected, predictable yield as miraculous. Generosity beyond expectation is recognized as the hand of God.
The New Living Translation verse says, You crown the year with your bounty, and your carts overflow with abundance.
The King James Versions says, thy paths drop fatness. (KJV)
The New King James Version reads, Your paths drip with abundance”. The idea is wherever God goes, He spills an abundance in His wake!!
The Bible says when God passes, He generously drips abundance along the way. He deliberately leaves goodies for us to find.
In the Old Testament, it was the Law not to pick every ear of corn and every head of wheat. Israel was commanded to leave some on the edges and in the corners of the field for travelers to eat. In the book of Ruth, Boaz instructed his workers to leave handfuls on purpose for Ruth to gather in her gleanings. (Ruth 2:16)
When God says your year is crowned with good, we are in a season of harvest!!!! That means souls are going to be won, prosperity in every form is going to be poured out, and rewards for work accomplished for Him are going to be dispensed!
God is going to raise up a standard of protection and deliverance and pour out His Presence upon you. We are in a season of harvest, and this is your year crowned with good!
I’m talking to you about the goodness of Almighty God. It’s one thing to say, “God is good all the time.” It’s another thing entirely to consider (contemplate, reflect on, to think, believe, pay close attention to) His amazing goodness towards us!
Let’s look at Psalms 65: 9-13:
9 Thou visitest the earth, and waterest it: thou greatly enrichest it with the river of God, which is full of water: thou preparest them corn, when thou hast so provided for it.
10 Thou waterest the ridges thereof abundantly: thou settlest the furrows thereof: thou makest it soft with showers: thou blessest the springing thereof.
11 Thou crownest the year with thy goodness; and thy paths drop fatness.
12 They drop upon the pastures of the wilderness: and the little hills rejoice on every side.
13 The pastures are clothed with flocks; the valleys also are covered over with corn; they shout for joy, they also sing.
Verse 9: Thou visitest the earth, and waterest it The Earth is the uttermost parts of our body, and it’s the Word of God that waters it!
Thou greatly enrichest it with the river of God “Enrichest” comes from the Hebrew word aw’shar which means to accumulate, especially to grow, to cause to make rich!!!
This river is not a physical body of water because we discovered in John 7:38-39 that he is speaking of the “river” in relation to the Spirit of God, and he said He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)
At Pentecost, it was given as a universal gift for whomever will receive it! Here this river is God’s Spirit. A river is a stream. The synonym for stream is to gush, current, down pouring, outpouring, flowing, or flood. Another definition is prosperity. Now that this garden has been planted in Eden, the LORD God is making provision for the man (male & female), and it’s through this river! The spiritual aspect of this “river” is the Spirit of God!
This “river” started in Genesis chapter 2:10 A river went out of Eden to water the garden; and from thence it parted, and became into four heads. And it continues in Revelation 22 where it went back to being a river. Revelation 22:10 And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.
When you really look at it, you see how God’s Spirit put on flesh in the person of Jesus the Christ! When He finished with it, He put it back into Spirit, but yet He is still flesh in His people, and He wants this people to become “ONE” man!
Ephesians 4:13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ.
Psalm 65:9 which is full of water: thou preparest them corn. Corn in the Hebrew is daw-gawn, meaning increase, which derives from another word (daw-gaw’), meaning to move rapidly.
Psalm 65:9-10 when thou hast so provided for it. Thou waterest the ridges thereof abundantly: thou settlest the furrows (cutting) thereof: thou makest it soft with showers: Showers: (raw-beeb’) a rain meaning to cast together; i.e…increase, especially in numbers; to multiply; to be great in size, large, powerful.
Psalm 65:10-13 Thou blessest the springing thereof.
The coming year for many is to be a year crowned with His goodness. When the Word says “crownest” here, it means to encircle for protection or attack; to compass about or surround. The word “paths” mean simply “your goings”. The text above states that God’s paths drip with fatness.
The richness of what “fat” means in God’s vernacular/language is again….. Abundance. The Hebrew meaning is TO ANOINT!!!! To anoint is a Hebrew word (maw-shakh’) meaning to rub with oil, i.e. to consecrate; to paint; to smear something on an object. It is indicating a special setting apart for an office or function or role as God’s Chosen One!!!!!
Luke 4:18-19 (KJV):
18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
If you stay on His paths, you will find His rich, fulfilling goodness in every way. After all, it is impossible to pursue Him and not please Him. You can never lose following Jesus the Christ!
Point # 1: TREK WITH GOD
Trek with God! Go on a journey with Him; migrate to His kingdom, and go where He tells you to go. Migrate means to move from one country, location or place to another. This year will be crowned with His goodness, but you must also be ready to move. God says “Get ready to move!” Read Exodus 33 for more illumination from the Holy Spirit.
Point #2: TRACK GOD
Where is He, and what is He doing?
Tracking something means there is detectable evidence that something has passed. When you track God, you’re searching for Him by following evidence of Him until He is found. Is there somewhere God is trying to lead you?
EXODUS 13:21-22
21 And the LORD went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night: 22 He took not away the pillar of the cloud by day, nor the pillar of fire by night, from before the people.
Moses desires to see His glory and gets His goodness. God was so pleased with Moses for seeking Him that He promised His goodness to Moses in the form of protection, deliverance, and His Presence. God also gives to Moses what he asks – a glimpse of His glory.
EXODUS 33:18-20
18 And he said, I beseech thee, show me thy glory. 19 And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before thee;
and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will show mercy on whom I will show mercy. 20 And he said, Thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and live.
and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will show mercy on whom I will show mercy. 20 And he said, Thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and live.
We see Moses exclaim with awe and love:
EXODUS 34:6
6 And the LORD passed by before him, and proclaimed, The LORD, The LORD God, merciful and
gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth.
When God says your year crowned with good, we are in a season of harvest!
As stated earlier, that means souls are going to be won, prosperity in every form is going to be poured out, and rewards for work accomplished for Him are going to be dispensed!
But there are things we need to do to co-labor with Jesus Christ and obtain the promises of God! In order to walk in this year crowned with good, in this harvest season, we have to walk with God. We must stay on His paths, which drip with abundance and blessing. (Psalm 65:11)
No matter how much money you have or don’t have, God is going to raise up a standard of protection and deliverance and pour out His Presence upon you! We must move with God – when we see the Holy Spirit moving, we must move in unison with Him!
We are in a year crowned with good and a season of harvest!
I proclaim and declare over you, your house, your family and sphere of influence that you will see the “goodness of the Lord” in the land of the living!!! God bless you!
Clap your hands this day; lift them up over your head! For as you “hold them high” in praise and faith, the test before you shall become very low!!!
“Get ready, says the Spirit, for I am surrounding your year with My Goodness!!! So expect to see my goodness in ALL things and in EVERY situation!!! For even as you do this, the things that held you back in the past shall be no more”!!!
Father, I thank You that our upcoming year shall be surrounded with goodness!!! We expect to experience Your Goodness like never before!!!
I take authority over the things that would try to steal that and thank You that my hard pathways from the past shall be filled with ABUNDANCE INDEED!!!!
In Jesus The Christ’s Name, AMEN!!!!!!!!!!
