Matthew 1:21 "And
she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall
save his people from their sins".
Matthew 16:13-16: "When
Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples,
saying, 'Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?' And they said, Some say that thou art John
the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets. He saith unto them, 'But whom say ye that I
am?' And Simon Peter answered and said,
Thou art the Christ, the Son of the Living God". (King James Version)
We see here
in the book of Matthew that Jesus made a strong declaration to his disciple, “Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?”
They answered naming some of the
prophets. Then He said unto them again,
“But whom say ye that I am?” You see Jesus wanted to know if they knew Him. Then Peter answered saying, “Thou art the
Christ.” Right there Jesus blessed Peter
because He knew that flesh and blood didn’t reveal this unto Peter. The great truth came from God the Father - that
spiritual idea of man; The Christ of God; The Son of God which is the Divine
Mind (God) - had revealed this to Peter.
So as we
find Jesus referring to Himself as the “Son of God”, we see Peter also had
reached a place in understanding where he realized his relation to Being (God).
In John 7:29, Jesus explains this
realization when He says “I know Him:
for I am from him and he hath sent me".
Now I’m
saying to you, people of God, “DO YOU
KNOW HIM?” Tell me do you Know Jesus;
do you really know The Christ and His Anointing? What a wonder! Well, to know Him is to have the facts. Facts are known to be true; known to have
happened; a reality. Having facts is to
know that you know….that you know. Also
to know Him is to have an understanding of Him and to have the knowledge or
revelation, which means to have an experience or acquaintance with
someone. To know is to be aware of; to
have seen or even heard; it means you have some information about that
particular individual.
So you see:
Knowing is based on our experience of something. In knowing something, we do not have to think
or speculate about it because we perceive it so deeply within ourselves as true,
that we don’t even have to discuss it. No
matter what anyone else says about it, it does not alter our reality about
it. It cannot be proved or disproved. It can go to more and more profound levels of
conviction, but it is generally only when we ourselves can testify to it. To experience something is to know it. To experience something is to know it with a
degree of certainty that it gives it more power and influence over our lives
than other things. Prime example: When
the s-u-n shines on our skin, we feel the warmth. We don’t need anyone to tell
us what we feel—we just know. Well what
about the S-O-N. Same thing. The
experience of God (THE LIGHT) and the energy of His Light can be as real to us
as the warmth of the sun on our skin.
It’s like the wind, you can’t see it, but you know He’s there.
We know that
the experience of God can be felt in our bodies, and it is unlike just thinking
about something or having faith in it.
We just KNOW HIS PRESENCE IS WITH
US!!!
Here is the point,
people of God: belief and faith work
like hands in a glove. We believe with
our minds and have faith in our heart.
Faith joins the heart and mind together. Faith is not concerned with proofs. Faith believes in the invisible. Faith says that I can believe in what I do not
see. Hebrews 11:1: "Faith
is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen".
So now, if belief is based in the mind and faith on joining of the heart and mind, then what about knowing. Knowing is based on the whole body in our very
being itself. You see Being is composed
of wisdom, will and consciousness. It
takes all these to make what we call GOD!!! Man stands in this God-head as will. I’m just saying that ideas exist eternally in
wisdom. They are made manifest through
will, and that manifestation is called consciousness (The Thing Made). With Man being the faculty of will in the
supreme God-head, it is through him that the universe is brought into
manifestation. I know it’s deep, but I’m
trying to tell you that knowing goes beyond faith and belief. When you know that you know, it brings each of
us to a goal or point of experiencing God in a way that’s so real that it’s
impossible to deny. This knowing takes
us past faith and belief into certainty. Certainty is freedom from doubt; a sure fact
or assurance, you are totally convinced.
You are so convinced that no one can dissuade you that you know HIM. Why???? Because YOU
are totally convinced, no doubt, and assured that you:
1) Have
the facts: You know God created by the power of His Word, and you came
forth. Genesis 1:26: "And
God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness". Let us make and it was.
2) Have the understanding: The knowledge of who God is; that you have experienced or had a close encounter with him. 1st John 5:20: "And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus the Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life".
3) Have
an awareness /acquaintance with: You’re familiar with and can recognize
(identify) Him; able to distinguish Him
from all other; also totally aware of His presence. Job
22:21: "Acquaint now thyself with him and be at peace". John 8:42: "If
God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from
God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me".
So people of
God, “Do you really know Him?” Do you
actually have the facts about Him? Do
you have the understanding, the knowledge or revelation of Him? Are you really aware or have the acquaintance
of who He is? Are you able to recognize
Him and His infinite mercies? Whatever
situation or opposition that presents itself, you must know that God will
reveal Himself according to the need.
Just know that nothing can give you a strong tower of security and
assurance like “KNOWING GOD.”
Philippians
3:10 says, “That I may know (be aware of) him,
and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being
made conformable unto his death.” To know/be aware of The Anointed One and
His Anointing. That "dunamis"
power; that force; that strength; the ability to perform through the Holy
Ghost!
